About the Department

DEPARTMENT OF DENTISTRY — INTRODUCTION
The Department of Dentistry at Dr. Shankarrao Chavan Govt. Medical College, Nanded, was established in 1988 following the guidelines of the Medical Council of India (MCI). Dentistry is a specialized branch of medicine focused on the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity, teeth, gums, jaws, and related craniofacial structures. Dentistry is vital for medical undergraduate students because the oral cavity is an integral part of the human body, and many systemic diseases first manifest or show crucial early signs in the mouth.
