DEPARTMENT OF PATHOLOGY — INTRODUCTION

The Department of Pathology at Dr. Shankarrao Chavan Government Medical College, Vishnupuri, Nanded, was established in 1988 with the vision of leading developments in academic and clinical pathology. Since then, it has been actively engaged in the study of diseases and in ensuring patient safety and well-being. The department is committed to disseminating knowledge and training undergraduate and postgraduate students to achieve excellence in patient care.

In addition to academic training, the department provides opportunities for staff capacity development to enhance skills, lead research by example, and build and promote platforms for the dissemination of knowledge and skills.

The department also fosters research in curriculum development, basic research into various aspects of disease understanding and management, and the initiation and promotion of interdisciplinary and translational research.
