The Department of Community Medicine runs the Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC). The Out Patient Department (OPD) of UHTC functions every day and caters to the health care needs of the population in the UHTC field practice area.

The UHTC has facilities for patient examination and basic laboratory investigation. Undergraduates, postgraduates, and interns are posted by rotation to the UHTC. The UHTC features a cold chain system consisting of an Ice Lined Refrigerator (ILR), Deep Freezer, and vaccine carriers for immunization activities.
